Default '72 barn find for sale

Found this "factory" BBC '72 "barn find" coupe. It looks like a mess, but looks kinda cool. I don't have the funds to go buy it, after trying to redo my own '72, but it is my color and it is calling my name

Here is the link:

What are your thoughts on it?

Also here is a C2 convertible that is a basket case but at a fair price.

Yeah I know, it is really cheap foe what it is and even if it was parted out it would be a great money maker. If the car was in great shape, it could be restored with lots of time and money but the cost of the car is IMO pretty fair to start out at. I would of course try and haggle the price a little.

….it could be swapped over to a manual. I know it is ease said than done. I have done a conversion with my '70 BBF Mustang. Not so easy.

It seems like we always find deals when we need to finish the project/repairs that we already have in the garage!

You have a great car with some bruises that need attention....think about it.

It has no engine, no transmission, no interior, and needs work all the way around. From experience with these cars that price is enticing and it will immediately take 6000 just to turn it into a car with seats. Would you buy a priceless painting that I just set on fire? Probably not. You asked for opinions.

So the 72 is a BBC car by the VIN, but nothing else....it's just a body, really. I'd give maybe $1500-$2000 because the body seems in good shape.

The 64, I'd give MAYBE (big maybe) $4000 only because it is a C2 with some pieces...which is pushing it because of how much overall work it needs.

my opinion....

not so fast! You can tell a BBC car by the different suspension IE Rear sway bar and different caps on the u-joints. Also the redline on the tach is different in some BBC applications.
Even though it is just a "Body" The frame is worth 2k and the front clip is worth another 2K if un-broken. Even though it is unethical I guarentee someone will pay around a grand for that title and VIN. Just food for thought.

Exactly, and by the time the car was bought for a fist full of dollars (granted it was parted out) the cost of the car is less than the value of all of the parts. Which I had my eye on it to get a few front end parts off of it and then possibly look into keeping or selling. Looks like it sold already! ….I am partial to '72 Ontario Orange C3s..I wonder why
