Default Which year camp are you in?

okay if I muck this up this time I give up....

The c3 was a long production run we all have our favorites and while each year is a little different I split them into the camps and options and you can pick as many as you desire.
So pick your favorites in the poll and if you desire post why you dig your favorite year the best.....

I shifted for 40 years......now it's Auto-

I have great respect for the members with the NCRS cars.....chasing down a "3/4-20 castle nut/$9.99 shipping" is bad enough without having to find an original GM nut!

Existing on a limited income, my little basket case will receive a correct part per month.....LOL!

Good Poll, this will be interesting! I have the utmost respect for the factory fresh guys and what they do, it takes research and talent to make a perfect specimen. For me my heart is in the custom modded Vettes, they really make my day. The great thing about the C3 is there are plenty to go around whether you go stock or modified, so your not killing a rare car by making it your own.

The 68 chassis i am using under my 69 was from a stick car, something about a stick is cool and i havent 100% ruled it out even thought I am an auto fan but i can do an auto with overdrive cheaper than a stick with overdrive so.....

My preference is '68-'72 convertible, small block, 4 spd.
I turned 16 and got my drivers license in '71, so wanted one then, but out of reach for me at the time (I now own a '71).
Chrome bumper C3's, do it for me.
I lean more towards the stock, with minor mods..not a NCRS guy.

If money was no object I would have a 69 convertible and a 80-82. Both modified to look stock on the outside but with all modern components underneath. I love the looks of all C3's both those two are my favorite.

I respect the ncrs guys even though they dont return the favor in most cases,
I cant really see a award winning ncrs car being both a driver and staying all that pristine and my cars have to be drivers I can't be stuck in some hole to have to use old bias ply skinny tires as one example.

But the work some ncrs chaps put into these cars is just as hard if not moreso than the work put into rad customs, with customs it's up to the builder to figure it out with a stock award ncrs car it's written how it much be done that can be hard and costly to make happen....

I have a 74, but I have to say that I love them all. Every year has something about it that appeals to me. While I do have the utmost respect for the NCRS guys and their attention to every little detail, my heart lies with the restomods and customs because of the artistry and creativity that their owners lavish on them. Yes, some are better than others depending on the skills and money of the owner, but each started as a vision of something beyond what the factory offered. Someday I may get the motivation to do a frame off build, but right now I can only watch in amazement at the members who are devoting years to that pursuit.

Not all NCRS cars are trailer queens...I drive the hell out of my 69. I have 2 top flights from regional judging (one with 97% raw score) and a regional performance verification. Everything on my car works properly including the headlight washer, and all at the same time. I am going for a duntov award at NCRS national convention over the summer and I am also doing bloomington gold. I might actually drive the car from Miami which is around 4000 miles.

Why do we have to have camps? We are all C3 owners - that's camp enough.

Definitely '68 to '72 convertible for me and I prefer automatic, although ours is a 4 speed.

We don't get into the 'mods' but I do miss some of the things that came out on later models like airbags! (Yah, we needed those once and I was glad to have them!)

doorgunner......we just tracked down 2 of those castle nuts. Our GM dealer didn't have them so they called another one about 15 miles away and they had 3 so they set aside 2 of them for us and we drove over to pick them up for a total cost of $6.69 and gas.

Bats you really can't paint everyone with too wide a brush. Like many long time NCRS members I have a healthy appreciation for both stock and tastefully modified Corvettes. I drive the heck out of all of my cars. There are many of us in the NCRS that have never even had a car judged. Driving is my thing. It's all good

I voted twice since I have a 68 BB coupe and a 69 convertible 350/350. Love them both but if I had to choose, I am a coupe guy.

I am an NCRS guy and in both "camps." There is something to love about all Corvettes. The NCRS provides a great deal of knowledge to our hobby that few other car enthusiasts have. We all benefit from the research and work done by NCRS even if you never plan to have your car judged. It is one of the best investments any Corvette owner can make in my opinion.
