Heater Core block off or bypass
As I drive there is radiant heat that blows into the car from the heater core. It comes out the defrost,.. It's not leaking, only when I'm moving. Is there a valve or something I can splice into a heater hose to prevent the hot water to circulate? Is there another way? keeping the heat off doesn't work.
It gives me a headache while driving..

Add a shut off valve out side the heater core inline. That keeps the hot fluid from going into the core. Sure you can find something better looking but this would work with the proper fittings.

I already have a new core if I ever want to replace it, but the interior is much cooler and I don't drive the car in cold weather. So for now I will just leave it as is.

So, is this what causes the interior to feel like the heater is on all the time? I remember our trip to Florida in our '68, man oh man that was one balmy trip! If that is what caused it and this valve is the fix I will definitely show my husband, we won't be driving ours in cold weather either.
