Default Picture Request - Spark plug heat shield

All,

I am looking for a very detailed picture of the left front spark plug heat shield installed on a stock ramhorn exhaust manifold with the ignition shield also installed.

If you have a picture of any of the other 3 shields, I'd be very glad to see that as well.

I have a mediocre-looking heat shield and want to know if it is worth replacing if it can be seen with the ignition shielding installed.

Hi Pete,
I can't be much help....starting in 71 (I believe) there was no longer an ignition shield on either of the front pairs of spark plugs.
So all I can show is the heat shield in place.
My recollection is that the ignition shield really hides the heat shield when properly installed. The 2 rear ignition shields certainly hide the rear heat shields.
I'm sure some one else will have a pic of the front shield!
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan, I saw the top picture from an older thread. I did not know that they did not use the ignition shield in '71.

I notice that the tabs on your french locks are not folded over?

Great pictures though. Your level of detail is very appreciated.

Hi Pete,
You need to start a new thread without my name on it so you'll get some more looks..... and a picture.
On my engine only one tab was bent for each bolt. I know it looks like none are bent but one for each bolt is.
Regards,
Alan

The left front heat shield was not installed on 69's that came equipped with a radio and ignition shielding.

Heat shields and ignition shields are very different pieces. All C3s had heat shields.

I was very confused by the question. Heat shields vs ignition shields. In any case these are heat shields in my basement inventory. You pretty much have to pull the engine to get them on. I tried without pulling and gave up. My wires now come down from the top.
