Default New seats question

Be been looking at either updating or replacing my original seats. I was just wondering if anyone ran into any problems putting different seats ( more modern) in there C3? I'm not to worried about keeping it original, main objective is comfortable and safety. I've been looking at many different brands of aftermarket seats and having either 4-5 point harness. Thanks

Arny, this has been done many, many times. Guys have used Fiero, C4, 5 and 6 seats as well as aftermarket seats. There are mounting issue that have to be addressed as you might imagine, but it’s all do able. If you haven’t yet, I suggest you do a search of the forums, and start there, as there’s a ton of info in threads already.

You can also Google "fiero seats corvette" and find a lot of helpful information not on these forums.

I bought some old Fiero seats, recovered them myself (not that difficult) with a kit from Fiero Mike, installed them with the original Corvette seat tracks, and now have awesome new seats for around $600.

As already mentioned... "search" is your friend... I had my seats overhauled and rebuilt with more support ect... perforated center panel was the biggest improvement... I forgot about having heaters put it...

i always liked the 81 vette style seats but my back and butt are not what they were 20-30 years ago and i know nicer seats are out there, but whats the affection with fiero seats I had an 86 fiero gt I didnt like them as much as 81 vette seats, what did I miss?

I wanna hear some people chime in with what seats they run in their c3 what year c3 and why they like he seats....

Thanks guys, I have been searching in my spare time thru the forum but nothing has helped me yet. I found a nice set if aftermarket seats on ebay for reasonable price. Just not sure of the mods I'll have to make, to make them work. Guess I'll never know until I try

Depends on your skill level and the amount of time and patience you have.

Skill level is well above average, it's the patience thing that gets me.
