Call Adam Boca at the National Corvette Museum. He runs the agency. Great guy to work with - great rates!

Anyone know if any of them will insure a car before it is put together? My body is off and i have a chassis that is now 99% done.

I had a Hagerty claim with my restored classic motorcycle. My fault, fell on the trailer. Check hit the mail as soon as I provided an estimate from one of the only specialists in the country that knew how to replicate the gas tank paint/chrome job.
Happy camper here.

Just renewed with NCM. Rate went down $8.

Adam Boca at NCM have been with them for a few years now after Hagerty kept raising my rates, I have never had a claim and happy with NCM.
Don't know if my rates will go up next year to help pay to fix the hole in the floor

NCM insurance is not part of the museum per se. The actual insurance company is American Modern Home.

Adam,

Are you able to offer insurance to New Hampshire?

Will NCM cover all collector cars, or just Corvettes? I have one Vette and two other toys.

That stinks, I'm in NH too. I was just going to try and sign up. Guess I'll have to keep my regular insurance on my car

Continental Insurance is a Classic And Collector car insurance company. They treated me really well when my 80 was damaged, although an adjuster tried to illegally try and jack me. When the company found out they apologized and made up for it.

Agreed value and reasonable rates make it a good combination for me. I have both my 64 Impala SS and my 75 Vette insured with them. Insuring both cars at pretty high agreed values is much, much cheaper than just the insurance on my 03 Avalanche with regular insurance company

Think of us as your neighborhood insurance agent. They sell a product for a carrier, and are required to have an insurance license in the states they write coverage. We are able to write in 43 states, but don't warrant enough calls to cover the expenses to be licensed (agency and agents), non-resident business entity, etc.

Let me know if you have any questions at all..

EEK! Stay away from these companies listed above (on your collector cars) as they are standard auto carriers, and do not offer Agreed Value protection. Stick with Collector Car specialists!

There's a big difference between "stated" value and "agreed" value. Stated value is just your opinion of what your car is worth. Agreed value is where both parties agree what your car is worth. With agreed value you will receive the agreed value on a total loss. With stated value you will get what the insurance company feels your car is worth. Probably a lot less since to them it's just a 40 year old used car.

OK, agreed value. They paid me every penny I had the 80 insured for and sold it back to me for almost nothing. They specialize in collector cars!

Make that TWO EEKS!

We've been with Progressive for several years: household, multiple auto (daily drivers) and marine. Never had a claim so can't speak to that. However, if you insure your 'Vette with Progressive and somebody smacks you hard, you'll get.........wait for it........NADA WHOLESALE MINUS 40%!!!!!!!. In fact, if you're NOT at fault, the at-fault party's insurco will give you..max.....wait for it.........NADA WHOLESALE MINUS 40%!!! No negotiation. Nada - in more ways than one.

Simply put: your 'collector 'Vette' - worth, say $12K - will probably total out at less than $5000!!!!! To them, it's just an OLD Merkin car ready for the dump.

BEWARE!: Insure your 'Vette with a Collector Car specialist.

I am happy with Hagerty. They have treated me well on my 81. They didn't quibble when I valued the it. I live in Michigan where insurance rates are terrible but at least they are close by. With all the perks they offer, its still a lot cheaper than insuring my F250.
