Couple of questions...what frame and suspension did you put under it? Where did you get the rear cover? What mods would you say are must haves if you were to do it again?
Thanks, Jon

Great..another thread to follow..
Not to mention that I wore out my mouse wheel just scrolling through this mess...
I am in the middle of a ground up numbers matching build on this one..
Just not making much progress..

i know much to the dismay of the pureists some of us do like a custom look or flair to their c3 like fander flares, tilt front ends etc...so lets see whats out there???
here is my work in progress
found it on rockford Illinois craigslist and something drew me to it looked like this
added rear 2 inch flares and a custom rear bumper, smoothed out the rough one off (cobra esq) front end. added a scoop to the front.
gonna drop in a fresh 355 with a muncie and black ceramic hooker headers and sidepipes, and some ansen sprints

This is my 68 Corvette. Picture was taken in 1972. I owned the car for 10 years. Regional Tri-State, & Midwest champion 1973.74,75,76. Next owner ran N.C.C.C. National and Regional Champ. Today the car is all black and is running as a Historic Racer.

These old Race Vettes are something else to me! Does the car have 70 "Egg Crate" side vents? Looks to me like that in the last Picture...

Yes it does, I put on the 72 side vents and the 72 front grills. Car was a Big Block I switched it over to a 72 built LT 1. The flares, and hood were Chev. back in the day you could buy the L88 flares, headlamps, and hood from Chev.

I cant believe that you sold it... But thats what I had told my that with the BMW's that he drove when I was a kid, and he told me that it was just a used car back then and nothing more... Now all These cars from the 60's to 70's are cool classics... Would be exciting to see Pictures from the car as it is now as a historic racer.

It's a long read and I haven't even truly dug into the car yet.

Love what you did, awesome looking car. I've just picked up an '80 that needs a full resto and am considering something very similar to yours. Subtle mods but definitely different than everything else. Maybe some mild flares, blended hood scoop, engine and suspension mods, custom gages and console, you know, all cheap stuff
Couple of questions...what frame and suspension did you put under it? Where did you get the rear cover? What mods would you say are must haves if you were to do it again?
Thanks, Jon

I put a Street Shop frame with C6 suspension under it and rear end is by Custom Image Corvettes. Doing it again I would look at SRIII frame. I love the chrome bumper rear end and would do that again. I also did an LS motor which I would definitely do and the C5 or newer seats are must haves as well. Enjoy your build.
