Default need help please

im helping a buddy of mine sand blast a frame on his project vett,he bought a 10# pressure blaster but the problem is his air compressor is running all the time.
he has a 60 gallon single stage compressor with a 3.5 hp motor on it.

my question is can he go buy a smaller gun and hook that up to this thing so it doesn't dump so much air when you open the gate on the setup he has now?

thankyou for the help everybody

You need at least a 20cfm compressor to do a frame.
What he has may do very small parts one at a time.
Either rent a commercial one or find a commercial blaster to do it.

Air tools, especially sand blasters, need BOTH a lot of air, AND that air flow at high pressure. A single stage compressor simply won't cut it. I have a 5HP, 2 stage compressor, with an 80 gallon tank. Even that, won't allow for continuous running of a sandblaster.
