Default C3 or gen 3 charger

Hi,

Im currently looking to get an older car. My budget is about 10-15k(trying to keep close to 10). I really love gen 2 chargers, but cant afford one now. I found a 71 with hideaway lights, but something just isnt right(its not a gen 2 and its a bit more than my budget). So i have seen some c3's in the price range, and was curious if this would be a better choice... I dont care for originality, and would actually welcome a car that has been modernized, and with a powerful engine. Saw pretty cool one a while back, it was perfect, but i couldnt make the purchase at that time. Any thoughts on the subject?

I actually got rid of a gen 3 Charger to get my Vette BUT, if a 68 Charger R/T came along I'd get rid of my Vette for that!

I like both cars. I'd bet you could get a late C3 for cheaper than a gen 3 Charger. Even with the so called "Corvette tax", I bet a C3 would be cheaper to build. I know small block chevy parts are cheaper than Mopar parts.

Absolutely! Not long ago I had a B-5 blue R/T 440 4 speed Super Track Pack car that I drove every day. I added P/S and a better radio for an improved commute experience but otherwise it was pretty stock. I miss that car every day.

My first car was a 68 Charger R/T, that I bought off my Mom, I kick myself in the *** for ever getting rid of it. I have wanted another for many years.

I got this 76 because it is my second favorite car I've owned. I bought a 76 L82 back in 1980 (about 4 years after I got rid of my Charger), and really had a lot of fun in it. When I was getting frustrated with my 73 Charger (electrical issues), I looked for another project and ran into this forum where I found my now 76 L82, so out when the 73 Charger.

Had a '68 Charger 440-6pak with a a pistol grip. Great car, different but no regrets what so ever selling for the Vette.
