Quadrajet fuel filter nut stuck, now what?
Tried to remove the steel fuel line to my Qjet to clean the fuel filter but the inner small nut is rusted solid to the larger nut. The small nut starts to round-off but is not going to move. If i strip it i am in deep sh*t i do not have a new fuel line. Any tips on how to remove this little bugger?

Hold the large nut with a 1" wrench, I believe. Remove the fuel line using a vise grip if you need to. The line and nut are probably shot anyway, especially if it already started rounding off. Fuel lines are easy enough to get. Last time I checked, I had trouble getting new quadrajet fuel filter nuts.

Buy a new fuel line. Cut old line about 3" long with tubing cutter or hack saw. Remove large nut with the proper box end wrench. Put large nut in a vice. Use a vicegrip to remove small nut. If you have to, you can join the cut fuel line with rubber fuel hose and hose clamps temporarily. Hope this helps.

You might be stuck doing what some of the guys are suggesting above. But also note that they are talking about what I call a "flare nut wrench" to use on nuts like the one you are having trouble with. If you wind up having to replace the line, you should consider getting this tool to help with future projects like this. Regular open end wrenches are notorious for rounding off hex nuts.

But also note that they are talking about what I call a "flare nut wrench" to use on nuts like the one you are having trouble with. If you wind up having to replace the line, you should consider getting this tool to help with future projects like this. Regular open end wrenches are notorious for rounding off hex nuts.
Get the entire set, as you'll be needing them on brake tubing and other projects.

Thanks guys, i'll get me a set of flare wrenches soon, the brake lines look indeed like i am facing the same problem removing these.
For now, i will cut the steel fuel line and remove the filter/nut in a vice, i do not want to put force on the hard line while connected to the carb. A fuel line is much more easy to replace than a stripped out thread in my carb.

Try putting a strain on the nut with your flare nut wrench, and then give the wrench a tap or three with a SMALL hammer.
Use anti-seize when reassembling.

if you're going to cut the steel fuel line, don't bother with the flare wrench. it's a 1" nut, so finding a flare that large is difficult, and a regular closed 6 point wrench will not flex when you apply force. as posted above, give it a few easy smacks with a small hammer and the shock will loosen the nut.

Actually, I think you will find the flare nut wrench is used for the 5/8" fuel line nut, the 1" wrench is for the filter housing.
I have a thin Snap-On 1" open-end wrench that works real well for this purpose.

Spend the money on a good set of flare nut wrenches. The cheap ones aren't any better than an open end. I would say "Craftsman" quality at a minimum.
There's not much chance of messing up the threads in the Carb as long as you only HOLD the 1 inch filter housing and don't turn it.
If you do decide to cut the fuel line then a 6 point socket will probably remove the flare nut.
