Does anyone know if a hood from a 1968 corvette fit a 1981 corvette? If not then is there any modifications that can be done to the hood for it to fit the 1981

Not without heavy modification. The 68 hood is shorter, and the latching system is totally different. Cheaper to find a hood for an 81.

The 68 hood was much shorter than the 81 hood. The 68 thru 72 models had the windshield wiper door at the back of the hood. 73 and newer had the long good that covered the wiper area, (GM called it "hidden wipers").

There are other differences too,....but to answer your question, NO, without some major modifications a 68 hood will not interchange with an 81.

The thing is that my friend has a 68 hood and its really nice and I want to put it on my 81 even with latch modifications
