In another life I use to be a ophthalmic surgical device rep. I would teach docs new surgical techniques as well as supply surgical instruments. I always wear eye protection when using a sawzall, bench grinder or similar and just can't imagine why someone would not do the same.

I enjoy working on my vette and other toys but not willing to sacrifice my vision because I'm too lazy to grab some eye protection.

I do that too, sometimes. My friends with shops and lifts like to make fun of my 'redneck car lift' when we're drinking beers.

And for us geezers that have to wear glasses to see, we have to complete each step in 1 minute or less because the darned things keep fogging over. It makes you very frustrated or efficient. Okay, in my case frustrated. Oh, and the mosquitoes that live to swarm under the car in the garage. Those add to the experience too. The up side is, this time of year when they are swarming there are so many in SW Florida that they stir up a nice breeze under there! Enough to keep my glasses fog free for a few precious extra seconds. Those are a couple of the challenges that keep me coming back for more!
