Alright, I gotta ask. Was there anything special you had to do to get the mid year side pipes to work on a C3. I was thinking about putting the 69' side pipes on my 70' but after seeing this, it's got me thinking of other options.

Thanks,

Eric

OO is my favorite C3 color, period.

I, too, would like more info on the midyear side exhaust install.

The pipes were on the car when I got it in 2006. Judging by the hangers and hardware, they appear to have been on the car for a long time.
They are '69 pipes and mufflers with mid year covers and insulators.
This makes for a great sound compared to the chambered exhaust on '65-67s which are on the loud side when at speed.
The covers were machined on the top (front and back) to match the contour of the C3 body. No fiberglass was trimmed up front behind the wheel opening as I believe was necessary with the '69 factory pipes.
I will get together some close ups and make a new post later.

Beautiful car and photos. I thought those sidepipes looked different! They really look great.
