I think some flames would look killer with your paint color, can't wait to see those pics!

My '81 with purple ghost flames on black paint. The previous owner had this done. I really didn't care for it at first but it has grown on me. I get a lot of compliments on it. It covers the front bumper cover and fenders as well.

Got the car back about 3 weeks ago; promplty dinged it putting on the luggage rack; had the rear repainted and have been trying to get pics showing the flames. Not too successful. These are about the best I've come up with so far. Have a great week, Bill

Why do people ask what they should do to their car??!?!?!?!?!
I am building my car for me, while I might ask a question like, what is the largest tire that will fit on a 10" rim I would never ask what wheels or paint or ???? I should use in my build, my build is to make one person happy...me.
Build your car to suit YOU, if someone doesn't like it who cares?

Before the accident, my 79' was black with blue ghost flames. Here are the only two pictures I can find at the moment. Please ignore the exwife in the 2nd pic.

Funny you should mention your ex wife in a corvette pic. My fiancee recently saw some pics of my ex in some photos I had accidentally left online taking the vette on a cruise for a weekend. Needless to say, I have since checked all of my online photos to ensure I have "removed" my ex from all of them.

Fixing a paint job that has been damaged is totally different (often more time consuming) than painting it initially. It will all depend on the level of custom graphics you choose to do.

In answer to The13Bats question, the above answer is one of the reasons. Then, there are others. Have a great weekend, Bill

I am good with these pictures. My Vette doesn't look like that anymore, and those were taken at my moms house in MI. My Vette hasn't been in Michigan since September of 2011. I didn't meet my fiance until Spring of 2012.

Anyway, back on subject, Personally, I was not a fan of the flames. I can apriciate a custom paint job, but it's just something about the lines on a Vette, and flames takes focus away from those smooth sexy lines of a C3. But to each their own! As long as YOU like it, who care's what others say. You have a Vette, and 99% of the people that will say something bad about them, do not.

I agree with that the vast majority of the time, but there are situations (and I've been in such situations myself) where you find two options equally desirable and can't decide which you like best. In such situations I've asked others for their opinions as to which they like best to help me decide which way to go.

very positively surprised with the flames! when I read the inital post I thought " Oh ****, flames on a c3 again..."
Now your pics looks so good I wont them on mine!

Do you mind asking how much did you have to cough up for the whole paint job?

Thanks for the compliment. I'll try and get some decent pics. The only thing I took off was that da*n luggage rack. My painter completely prepped, painted, reprepped, repainted (see a previous post for details). All inclusive: 5300. (Actually 10000 after deal with wife -- she doesn't know about the repaint.) Have a great weekend, Bill

Default Update

Unfortunately, due to a slight fender bender (actually no such thing to a corvette - fiberglass don't bend - except of course that one metal one) had to have it repainted. Wanted a little darker on the flames and sure got it. At times it isn't really noticeable, but other times really stand out. Needed (wanted) new tires, so figured WTH and got wheels also. Have a wonderful week, Bill
