very cool... but not in my budget
According to NCRS my 68 vette was originally delivered to De Anza Chevrolet in Riverside CA. This would be a very addition to my car, except that I have a NC license plate on it. Bidding starts at $98, which is not bad for a rare piece that appears to be in excellent condition.

Pay $98 to advertise for someone? No thank you

Very cool indeed. I am always on the lookout for memorabilia to Washburn Chevrolet where my '69 was delivered. I also receive my shipping report from Mr. Sinor for my '75 soon, and will be interested to see what I can find for that car.
$98 is steep for a license plate holder though, sheesh.

Hi PRNDL,
It's one of those things that is hard to pass-up!
If you buy it there will be another on e-bay next week for $5.
If you don't buy it you'll never see another at any price.
I'd have to have it!
Regards,
Alan

isn't that the truth, lol. i would still want to have it regardless of where my car was currently registered. i tried to get anything i could on the dealership that my 78 pace car was delivered to, but alas, i came to find out it was long gone. would have been nice to have some current connection to the past.

I agree, even though it wasn't the original one from the car it is still part of the cars history, I'd have to close my eyes and bid on it... (oh, then I'd be sure not to tell the wife how much it cost ).

It depends on the item's availablity. If the dealership is still around and these frames are still available elsewhere, I'd be patient.
However, if the place is defunct and this is actually a vintage rare item from the place your car was originally sold from, Id pay whatever it cost. Seriously.
Advertising for someone else? Not from the same state? Thats nuts... I'd buy the thing a heartbeat. Way cool.

Googled and found this
De Anza Chevy was a Dealer in Riverside California in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. When they constructed the Riverside Auto Center, in the 60's, De Anza Chevy relocated from Downtown Riverside to their new location in the Auto Center. It appears that in 97, that the Dealer changed to Singh Chevrolet.

That's kinda cool. I'm with vettebuyer, but only if you have an NCRS ride and you care about that stuff.
Like celebrity, its all relative. Everyone has their own opinion. I personally would never buy a license plate frame for $98....unless it has a Duntov autograph.

It's $100 what the heck, I wish that was the most I ever spent because I thought it was cool to have it. Also, when buying things for these darn cars $100 is on the low end of ths scale. Not much you CAN buy that isn't that much or way more.

My car was bought new at Harry Mann Chevrolet in L.A. Those frames go for $400 or more. I would be happy to pay $100 for one but no way are they worth $400-$500
If I was you I would buy it.

Mark, I'm going to buy it and put it on my car so you have to see it at cars and coffee every month!
