Default Pics of what happens when an engine explodes in a Corvette!!

To get the back round story read this thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-g...tte-world.html
I accepted the task of replacing the motor in my old car, and thought you guys would be interested in seeing the carnage of what happens when you starve your motor of oil. I do not recommend it!!

We believe that a leaky oil pressure sending unit leaked all the oil out over the space of a year. There is burned and caked on oil from the bellhousing all the way to the rear suspension. Just shows the difference between a car guy and a non car guy who checks oil regularly and or wonders why the car smells like burning oil all the time

Can you imagine the sounds coming from this engine? The soundtrack from beginning to end must've been something the driver heard (enjoyed?), cause I can't see driving it, beyond it overheating, with the strong odor of cooked hoses, but this kid flogged the f%% out of it, before it just annihilated itself.

If it was me, I would've said f-you to the car owners as far as rebuilding the engine. You're doing them a favor, that they don't deserve. They should've paid FULL retail and took it up the whazoo at the local garage. 'Vettes don't deserve that kind of treatment.

The level of destruction is impressive.
If you were looking to blow a motor you couldn't have done a better job.

I was going to say JB Weld and RTV. And everyone's favorite, SEAFOAM.

You could simulate that sound by dumping a bunch of 9/16 and 5/8 bolts in your garbage disposal and turning it on.

Ouch. Lots of destruction from that one.

Thanks for the reminder to pull the dipstick, every once in a short while and look at what it says.
