Default 69 front bumper/trim

Are there stampings on the front bumper that identify it as original? How about the chrome bumper guards and chrome grill trim?

Hi B,
I don't believe there are any markings on the bumpers, (front or rear), or the bumper guards, that identify them as original production line parts.
The grill trim I'm not sure about..... I don't think so, but maybe someone more familiar with 68-69 cars will know.
I think some of the early reproduction bumpers were very easy to spot because they were actually several pieces welded together, but I'm not sure how many of those are still around.
The very nice Paragon reproduction bumpers have their mark on them so you can spot those too.
Regards,
Alan

68 And I am guessing, 69 original front bumpers, had only an " L " shaped bracket that held the bumper guards. I think 70-72 front bumpers had to have the " Z " shaped bracket to hold the front grilles on. Lou.

Any reason to believe yours are not original?

the fitment at the lower bumper guard to the trim is a little off...the mounting points on the bumper for the upper bumper guard seem a little narrow

They often are. You can tweak them a little and possibly get a tad better fit, but it is rare to see them perfect.
