I have vin # 453792 out of 453807 on a 1979 l82 4 speed. Can anyone tell me if mine would be last l82 4 speed built?

No. No one can tell you that. You can speculate on being close, but are not likely to find any documentation to know for certain.

You can purchase the invoice on those cars @$50 each if it is that special to you. Vehicle invoice:http://www.gmmediaarchive.com/ but first go to the c3 registry and see if any later 79s are listed with the options to cut down on cost.
