Default Just how good is POR 15??

Is this pan too far gone? I'm no welder, and this was to be a father son project, now it's just me, so $$ is tight.... I have the rest of the interior ready to go, but often the first step is the hardest!!

Side note: this place is a life saver when you've lost the only inspiration to a project vette... THANK YOU ALL!

Not sure what POR-15 can do for you here. Unless I'm missing the point of your inquiry.

They have a floor pan kit that reinforces with fiberglass.. They claim to patch some pretty bad pans. Wondering if anyone has had success.

POR-15 will not save that. That pan will have to be replaced.

76 is a metal floor pan. They are replaceable. They go in with rivets and seal to deter leaking.

Don't they need to be welded at the trans tunnel?

Default glassing

I've glassed much worse, if it's not structural shouldn't be a problem. use multiple pieces / sheets of sea mat. back it on exterior with duct or masking to keep resin in. no need for a kit just get to home depot. wire brush it and use converter to clean up surface rust. Henry's roofing patch on exterior side, cut with some turpentine. that rot at the toe board could be reinforced with a 1" strap of aluminum stock riveted from kick panel to tunnel.

The bottom was treated at some point... Can't tell there is any rust from underneath... Feels structurally sound...

i'm sure you'll be good with a cheapo fix just watch out for the exhaust heat under the fix. the jag in my garage pics had VERY bad pans. sea matted them and you could stand on 'em all day

On a positive note, I found the build sheet under the rear carpet and an original key in a heater vent!!!

On a 1976 that type of repair is a good option.

Guess I'll go with the glass... Worst that can happen is that I need to cut it all out and go metal right?!

Good choice, POR 15 great for frames, not good for sheetmetal, any parts that flex will eventually pop it off.
