Disappearing Dip Stick Tube. How to get to it?
Well, I noticed a couple oil spots under my car and when I looked underneath the car is covered in oil. Opened the hood and there is no dipstick or tube. Gone.
I can't even see where it goes from the top or bottom. What do i need to do to put a new one in? Remove the starter? Remove the Hooker headers?
Any advice would be great. Thanks

A new tube is an interference fit and just taps into the hole in the block. If you can't find where it goes, might be better off taking it to your local mechanic to have it done.

Well, it must have enough access for that assembly, for it to get lost! Surely you know where it was located; I assume that you have checked your oil on occasion. If you use a flashlight to look down toward the engine block/oil pan interface, you should see about a 3/8" hole where the dipstick tube once was. Get another one, put some permatex #2 sealant on the outside of the tube that fits into that hole and [with the dipstick out of it, of course] set it in place with a rubber/plastic/wooden mallet. Then stick the dipstick back in it. You also want to check the oil level to see if it reads about the same as what it was---before it fell out.

One day, changing my headers, i broke my dipstick right on the block.
No choice to rid it of. Got the oil pan off and pushed the piece out with a hammer and tool. Good news i noticed my engine was brand new.
Good luck
