Thanks to all that responded, I have been reading a lot on this forum and find it very interesting and informative. I will surely consider this advice, since it was running when I put the Mistress up. I think I will drop the tank and see what is in it--should give me an idea of how bad she maybe clogged. It will be awhile since I have other tasks to do before turning her over. A lot to consider, but trying it sounds great. I have to do brakes complete, tires are dry rotted. I will look for a Post '85 fuel pump/gauge assembly. I started to drop the tank but need to read a bit more. Thanks again, I will look forward to more help as this project progresses. Larry

You don't have to drop the tank to access the fuel pump etc. I can be accessed through the top, it takes only a few minutes. Do replace the fuel lines, one trick for line replacement is to unfasten the fuel line clip at the R. rear frame behind the tire this allows the lines to give more room.

Hi again, You said I do not need to drop tank on my '82 Vette, does it come out from the gas-filler hole? I have been working on other problem areas and am just getting back to it. This project is going to take awhile and quite a few bucks so it appears. I would prefer not to drop the tank since that requires messing with the exhaust. Don't really cherish removing exhaust unless I decide to change to it headers & side exhaust
Thanks

Yes, out the top, remove the fuel cap bezel and rubber grommet, and loosen the fuel lines clamp at the right side frame behind the r. rear tire, this will allow you to easier removal the fuel hoses at the pump. Disconnect the wiring and hoses to the pump/gauge, remove the bolts retaining the pump flange. Lift the pump out, turning it a little to get it out. Do replace the hoses with Fuel injection hoses, these can be bought at a store like O'Reilly's.

bpassmore, thanks it was pretty simple as you said. My manuals were a bit confusing but it is easier than I thought it would be. Is that picture your Vette with the inline 4 barrel carbs? Looks nice
Thanks again, I'll be back again before this project is done.

Unfortunately not my present Vett, That is a Pic of my '55 chevy with the set up I used in a life in the early '60s on a '59 Vett I had. The manifold was off the 270HP with modified AFB carbs.

Was thinking about starting an "82 Picture Section" to where 82 owners can send me a link to where they have pics of their 82.
If there is any interest, just let me know and the new section will be added to the "sticky"......................Tom

The "sticky" link for 82 owners who have not seened it yet.......

I personally would enjoy this '82 Picture section, it is really interesting to see other enthusiasts Vettes. I don't care if they are concourse or custom, they are all great in my opinion, and one can get ideas from the other folks C-3. I sure hope I am responding to this correctly

Alright 82 owners, the new section titled:
82 OWNERS PICTURE SECTION will now be added to the "sticky" You can send me links in the following ways:
1- post your link or pic directly here in this thread
2- post your link or pic directly in the "sticky" thread
3- PM your link to me
4- Email your link to me through the forum and put 82 Corvette in the subject line

I will then post them in the new section, you can send a link with one pic or multiple pics, your choice. After I post them in the "sticky" thread, I will let you know, and then we can delete your original response, so we will have the pics in one location and not in multiple threads.
Your 82 can be in any condition, doesn't matter. Just has to be an 82 to be in the new picture section.......

thanks for thr interest................................ ....Tom

Who will be first????????

alconk, Thanks, I originally had a 1976 but found this in Illinois and bout it in about 1990. The documentation indicates it was delivered straight from the dealer to a shop on Jericho Parkway in NY. They did a real clean modification and I just had to have it. Just trying to get my Topless Vette on the road again.

Do you have the name of the shop? Jericho Tpk is my turf. My 82 was originally purchased at Kort Chevrolet on Jericho Tpk in Floral Park.

Default New Thread listed.....

The link below is the New Thread where we can post pics and descriptions of our 82's as opposed to having them added to the "sticky".
I was having to many problems with that and decided it would be much easier with a New Thread, which is listed below. Makes it much easier.
Looking for a good response...... Tom
