71 vette kick panel floor vents frozen
All need help trying to get my floor vents to work. I have aims manual and the chassis manual but couldn't find the functioning of those side vents. The controls in the center console are frozen or wont budge. Does anyone have a diagram on the mechanics for their function? Also is their a recommended site that I can buy the replacement parts? I did notice on the drivers side operating lever the linkage is broke. Passenger side just wont budge. Any ideas? thanks again.

For non-AC cars, the doors open and close with bowden cables attached to the underside of each Vent ****; one left and one right.
69 shown; 71 will be similiar and probably the same AIM section.
For factory air cars, there are no left side vents, no upper vent on the right side, and the kick panel door operates by vacuum.

The vent door on the non air cars or for that matter the rh on air cars can also bind up. The pivot points are show in this picture. To remove the door and possibly put in new seals you push the spring loaded pin downward.
The other issue is the cables... they will bind up over time and when this happens you usually bend or break the lever trying to get the to operate.
Cables are available. http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=24644
The levers.. no so much. I may have a used one I'd have to check.
