I had one of these sound bars in the '78 I used to own. It saved space and had decent sound...definitely better than the factory speakers in the front.
Bottom line...it was worth the money. Just don't expect concert quality.
I'm currently in the process of putting one of these in my '79 plus new carpeting, not expecting great sound but think it will be better than factory...I don't think it will hinder the storage of t-tops...
I spoke to Custom Autosound who makes that sound bar. I have a 72 and wanted a good sounding solution. The engineer I spoke to there steered me away from the soundbar and had me get the undercover II speakers with 8 inch woofers. The whole set just leans against the back wall and can handle WAY more watts than the soundbar and is far more sturdy.
Does it actually attach to anything or just lean against the back? I hope it gets anchored down somehow. In a sudden stop - aka collision - those speakers would become UFO's and come forward in a hurry. Very dangerous.

I'm sure there would be a simple creative solution to secure them.....
I bought a different ebay speaker box that fits back there, but i'm going to have to move my rear cargo light now.....
Any of you have awesome ideas for that ????? Pictures?
Don't mean to highjack the thread.....kinda goes with the whole project though....
