Default Adjusting hood on a 82?

My corners stick up about a 1/4" on my 82 and it doesn't look like there is any adjustments for lowering the latches. How did they do this at the factory or was it how ever it sits is what you got??

My advice is to leave well enough alone, but you could check for shims under the latch rods on the hood. The AIM shows where they might be.

I had the same problem on my 82 and ended up making my own shims. The stock shims are 0.13" and my right latch had 2 of them. If I removed one of the shims, the latch would not close. I had some very thin metal (0.02") that came from the core of a large electric transformer. I fabricated several thin shims and added a combination of 1 stock shim and just enough of the thin shims to lower the corner and still latch. While still not perfect, it's a lot better than before.
