Default Luby Chevrolet Forest Hills, NY

Doing a little history on my 69, and found out from NCRS that it shipped to this dealer. Anybody familar with tnem, or know anyone that worked there back in the late 60's?

I did find this old Yenko advertisement, apparently they were a Hi-Po dealer.

I remember Luby being real big back and the little script plastic plate they would put on the back of cars with the dealer name. Don't know anyone who worked there.

Big dealership....if I remember they were huge with fleet taxi sales. So many yellow cabs in NYC had a Luby sign on the back.

Luby was just off Queens Blvd, right by the post office. I remember the name changing to Lawrence (late 60's - early 70's) and I think that became H.B. Chevrolet. Here is their #
(877) 558-5450 someone there may have more info.

Thanks for the tip, Sonny. I gave them a call, but there's no oldtimers there anymore. Does NY DMV allow VIN searches?

My 1965 FI Corvette came from Luby in Forest Hills. There were five Luby's. Boston, New York, Baltimore, Miami and Denver. They were at least loosely connected. Always looking for Luby memorabilia. Any help is appreciated.

Don't have any anything I can sell or give but here's a pic of the dealer folder given to my Dad when bought the 68 at Luby's. He traded his 65 Impala SS convertible in on it. He went back there a few years later to buy my Mom her first car, a 73 Caprice, which became my first car.

As you can see from the folder, at the time there was actually 6 Luby's.
