Default search is over ( for now)

after 6 months or looking i bought the first vette i looked at, 1972 lt-1, silver red int. (haven't picked it up yet) low miles, very solid, no hit body, but still need some love, (remove hooker side exhaust, remove tunnel ram and fix or replace hood, make it look more stock)
First question ; was the original exhaust manifolds 2" or 2.5"
Thanks, more questions to come!

The LT1 had 2" exhaust manifolds with the exhaust header pipes expanding to 2-1/2" just past the manifolds.

LT1's are great engines....best of luck with your new ride.

Nice!! Let me know if you plan to sell the Hooker side exhaust. My 72 has the chambered mufflers on it right now but I'm really diggin the sidepipes.

I think all 68-72 big block and lt1 hoods are identical.

They look that way but 71 was the last year for the retractor support for the hood and 72 was the first year for a manual support. The 72 has a different location on the left side of the hood for the support (its lower) then a 69-71.
