I dropped all of my mag subscriptions and now only get Hemmings Motor News. I enjoy their articles - great writing and a variety of car makes and models. Also fun to browse through the stuff for sale. Haven't picked up a Hot Rod magazine in 25 years or so. Same old same old every month.

I used to subscribe to Car Craft and Hot Rod. I cancelled my subscriptions several years ago. I now subscribe to Hemmings Muscle Machines. That is more in tune with my interests now.

Injectors that pop @ 1500lb with a cam driven high pressure mechanical fuel pump
Injectors powered by62V stepped up inside the pcb/ecm

engineer's claim an underestimated 450hp
11.1 compression

i get the non stop renew requests, even when my subscription does not expire for 2 years..

nevertheless, hot rod is an american Icon... I will keep it forever.. for what? only 17 bucks or so a year? some months it takes me 5 minutes to go thru it.. another month, I spend an hour..

Yes on both counts. I constantly get "last chance" renewal offers in the mail reguardless of how many months are left on the current subscription.

As far as the content goes after all it is Hot Rod so hardly ever anything Corvette (and for me that's OK) but there are some features that could be considered good reading. The recent Stielow '69 Camaro Vs the new ZL1 offered some insite on what it takes to build a pro-touring Camaro to compete with a new ZL1. Back in the Sept issue there was a nice feature on the Rad Rides by Troy NASCAR theme Torino being built for George Poteet. At todays gas prices (if gas doesn't spike again) a years subscription is about the same as 3 gallons of gas in the daily driver so it's not like it is going to break the bank. As long as the subscription price stays that low I'll keep getting it. In the end it really comes down to what type of content interests you and is the price low enough not to cause you to cancel when it doesn't. With that said Hot Rod is one of the few subscriptions I have kept. For the most part I still make the trip to the local Barnes & Noble to check out what else is on the newstand that may interest me.

Is that the hokey *** message bd? I've browsed there in the past but didn't see much that would relate specifically to my vette, now the '66 Pontiac Beaumont was different.
