Default Heat in wheel.... likely source

Took the 79 out today, now that my to do list is done.... i guess the car is done, but it still does not feel that way. Anyway took it out for a spin, the passenger rear wheel is significantly hotter than the other wheels.
There is also a "cricket like" noise from that area when driving.

Now I have done a lot to the car, but not really messed with the rear axle at all. So I am thinking maybe sticking brake pads? There is no grinding or vibration, which would seem to rule out a bearing??? I don't know.

What is the likely culprit?

Usually a dragging brake caliper or a wheel bearing going bad. I would check the caliper first. Have they ever been replaced?

So it sat for about 8 years or so??? Yes I would definitely suspect a dragging brake caliper. Corvettes of this vintage have calipers that rust and they stop working and seize up. Common problem.
