Default 1974 Roadster- 454

New to forum and have a couple questions. Just aquired a '74 Convertible, 454, 4 speed, tilt/tele, A/C, shoulder belts and not sure what else matters. All numbers match, new top but what appears to be original interior(nice but worn in). Car is spotless under hood and under car looks as nice as outside. Paint is super nice with exception of a stress crack on hood. All chrome looks like new. Car is white with saddle interior. Also came with extra rebuilt 454 and new McJack headers. I was told the plan was to install non-numbers matching engine, but changed mind. I will post some pics. Looking for opinions on what to look for, how rare a car is it, value, any research that would be good to do or any other stuff I should consider. I like driving it but almost feel bad as it is that nice. Thanks.

You could say it is 1 of 1 since it is the only 74, BB, convertible you own.

There were 5474 1974 convertibles produced. That's the only reliable figure you will find. GM did not keep data for options combinations, so there is no realistic way to determine how many convertibles got the big block, or were white, or had saddle interior, etc.

...value...
It is almost certainly worth what you paid for it.

Congratulations.

In general a BB vert with AC is on the rarer side.

Drive it.... as much as you can. Just keep up with maintaining it.

about 9.3% of all 74's got the big block. you can carry forward the logic and state that 9.3% of convertibles got the big block or around 509 total. of course there is a margin of error introduced. this margin of error increases drastically as you try to add or subtract options.

if you found one that is no rust, numbers, good condition, AC, then it is indeed rare.
