GM did not keep records for options combinations. You can use the Black Book figures and come up with a guesstimate of about how many 74 big block AT convertibles there might be, but that's all it will be - a guesstimate.
Look at it this way: your car is one of one because it belongs to you.

Mayberg has the only record of 74 bb convertibles and their options and colors etc...the last time we found one for sale - there were less than 90 known to exist. He may have found more since then...
A quick email to him will give you how many of those were auto vs. How many wee 4 speed...

Simple probability and not GM records.
37502 74's
5474 Covertibles, and 3494 454's = ~510
25146 Automatics in 74 = 67% means 342 BB convertibles with automatic, and 168 manual.

him and i were keeping a list of all the VIN numbers (and pics, options, colors etc.) whenever we saw one in person or on the web - his list was bigger than mine so i just started sending him vin numbers of ls4 convertibles when i saw them to see if he had them on the list or not....last i checked there were under 90 known - (including his and mine).
Send him a quick note - he will get back to you with any information he has....

Of the 90 1974 Corvette convertibles with 454 engines that I know of, they are roughly half and half. You wouldn't expect that, given that only about a third of all 1974 models left the factory with a stick. But you might also expect that there shouldn't be an even distribution of options across the population, but rather that options would gravitate upwards.

Would my stats teacher call that environmental valiidity? (or lack thereof?)

My 74 BB Vert is still apart, hoping to have it all done by the Fall of 13.
Auto w/hardtop and most all options, except leather, and T&T wheel, which I may change, still undecided about it.
Only having 10,254 original miles on it, I could have left it as a survivor, but want to build it my way, leaving it as stock as possible, with only minor mods. Still has the original soft white top which is in pretty good shape for its age.
Post some pics, would enjoy seeing some other 454 verts.....
