looking for hood pin info/ideas
First things first, I kbow hood pins aren't everyones cup of tea and that's understandable. I recently got rid of my 81 and have a 75 now, that will be built as a Friday night hot rod. The hood latch cable is already broken and I do not feel like messing with replacing it, and having to worry about when it will break again. I am just wondering if any has installed hood pins on a 75 (I believe 70-76 are the same

Check these out for some hood pins that are a little more subtle than the traditional ones:

I'm thinking about using them on my '80.
Keep the shiny side up!

Not everyones cup of tea, not my cup of tea to look like the clone of the next zillion c3's parked in a row at a show,
While the import tuners have taken hood pinds to the next level in trick wild coolness,
nothing screams hot rod high performance than old school hair pin style pins, real side pipes and perhaps a flip top gas cap....

I like the two referenced products - AeroCatch and Quik-Latch, however the QL will require custom made brackets based on their FAQ. Wonder if AC requires custom fabrication of any kind. Could not find any mention of it, but still reading. Not sure about the OP, but I'm looking for something that doesn't require custom one-off parts "I" need to create.

Anyone with hood pins find it a pain to open a reverse opening hoods (corvette style)? I am considering hood pins and I am thinking after I cut holes in my hood I wont like it.
Unlike opening a traditional hood with hood pins, you would have to open the drivers side, then walk around to the other side of the vehicle and open that side. Same with closing. It may seem lazy, but if you are in a hurry (say your engine compartment is on fire )... Just something Ive been thinking about before I hack up my nice hood

Yes, but you'll never post "Help, my cable broke and my hood wont open" here.

I can stand on the drivers side and pull both pins and open my hood. Now a short guy might have an issue with that, I don't. But most of the time I walk around and pull them. And I already "hacked" up my hood when I grafted in the L88 scoop, so I can fix anything I don't like that's the beauty of glass.

The old-skool Mopar factory hood pins are very well made, look great, and the price is right.
