I'm just starting a frame off rebuild on my '81, I've already decided it's going to be orange, just don't know exactly which one, I'm leaning towards the "atomic orange", but also really like the "candy tangerine" a lot too. it's going to be a touch choice when it comes time to actually get the paint, but that's a long way off.
the funny thing is, I've always been a red kind of guy, but like some have pointed out, it's just WAY too common around here, I rarely see an orange one though.

Actually copper.
But I like orange since red is so common, although my 02 is red...

I found someone I'm on a similar page with. I have an '81 which is silver/charcoal which I want to see as maybe orange/black to stick with the original 2-tone. I'm leaning more toward the Daytona Sunset Metallic with black. Most of the stock orange colors are pretty brave!

My '75 Convertible has been metallic saddle for 37 years and is currently being refreshed with Atomic Orange ... I'll post 'after' pics when she's done in spring.

Burning Brakes
Would have given anything for an orange car when I was a kid in the 70's. What put me off was all the Ontario Orange cars I've seen in the flesh had very dull paint.

[QUOTE=vt65;1583243005]Yes it sure is, the car was originally my fathers and was repainted (not very well) a couple of times while he owned it. The color was not quite the medium metallic saddle that GM put on the car. My original plan was to stay with the original color but my paint man said that the color had not been mixed in the new water-borne paints and that I would be a guinea pig, with the current color being scanned to come up with the formula ... too big a chance to spend 8-10k on so I picked a color I knew I liked.

Lot of good colors to choose from. I can see your point on Yellow. I like Yellow corvetes too, but not sure it I'd want to live with it on my car for years. Some of the dark colors I don't think show off the lines as well as the lighter colors. Also important are the wheels and trim ...to make it look like a 'clean' package.
Good luck..

Stick with Monaco Orange!
Original 69 color was the Vette name for Hugger Orange used on Camaros and Chevelles that same year.
There are lots of C3s but almost no orange ones are left.

Almost done
So here's the '75 a bit further up the thread painted in Atomic Orange - personally, I love it - and it'll look even better with the shiny stuff put back on.
