T-top
It absolutely kills me when I see a C3 coupe advertised on Craigslist and the seller feels the need to state that it has t-tops like it was an option.
And while we are on the topic, does the car have T-tops or does it have a T-top with 2 removable roof panels?

It's usually the same guy calling his late model C3 a Stingray!
I have the same issue with all of the Vettes on CL all being low mileage less than 100K miles.

Hahahaha you too huh?
When I called about my car, the lady said "oh and it has T-tops too" and I said "yeah, they all do"

Hi,
When the coupe was introduced in 1968 the Chevrolet literature described it as having lift off roof panels. The Corvette people I knew referred to them as roof panels too.
The first cars I remember that had 'T-Tops' were Buick Regals and Oldsmobile Cutlasses.
Regards,
Alan

did you know you can get the mr or mrs option printed on a title? i didn't till i saw it on the vette now me and my wife have it on all 5 of our registered vehicles cars trucks and atvs. it just makes things easier in a need to sell or go to dmv situation

I know Im old and my mind is getting feeble, but I remember for years believing that "T Tops" was in reference to the "T" that apparently the section of the roof looked like when the panels were removed. I'd also heard the 84+ up one piece panel design was differentiated by "targa top."
I recall being suprised not that long ago reading something about "T Top" actually being short for "targa" which is what GM was calling the 1968 roof design.
Anyone else hear this story?

Vettebuyer5869, I agree with you. A targa roof is a one piece roof, which is what the 68 was originally designed to have. Why do you think that the NEW 1967 vette was delayed and came out in 1968? They had to come up with the removable roofs. The car had too much twist between the windshield header and the rear halo, so they added the bar in the middle. I bought my 68 in July 1972 and people called it a T top, even if Chevy did not. Chevy, to my knowledge, never called the C-3 roof's targa.
