Different driving experiences from different cars, but like them all. Had a 96' Z28 Camaro as a daily car for 5 years, and really liked it. The LT1 engine was really shoe horned in there though, and doubt anyone would say this thing was a pleasure to work on. The current favorite, is my C6 ZO6, as pretty much does everything, even decent fuel milage. Haven't had to wrench on it much, but surely not going to be a real fun one either.

I sold my 81 Z28 to buy my Vette. I don't regret it, but do wish I could have both. The Z was bone stock with 900000 miles. It needed paint badly, and I decided why put the money into painting it, instead I put the money i had saved into the purchase of my Vette.

I bought my 63 a little over 5 years ago off the forum.
I have had my 69 for about a year and a half now.
The 63 now plays 2nd fiddle to the 69. Side pipes and the extra 100 cubes makes the decision easy.
Giving some thought to selling/trading the 63 for a 69 camaro convertible.
Unfortunately, I have an idea in my head of what I want and I havent seen anything like it. It also does not help that my wife does not like the camaro.
I want an RS/SS Convertible...match to my 69 vette. I want a 396/350 4 speed car with factory AC. Pretty rare set of options.

I call them Baby Vettes
There is only one 68 Camaro like this and I made it because GM wouldn`t.......I switch off, but the Camaros are more fun, as this one is powered by a GM crate L-72 427.....Factory air, T-400, 4.1 posi, and one of 'Al`s black leather interiors....
and an unrestored 67 L78 black coupe

I have had my Vet probably 10 years and my Camaro about 5 but because the Vet came first i always had a soft spot for it...but lately im liking the green machine. It drives nice, its easy to work on, feels more practical and even handles pretty good too.
They both have about the same HP even though the vet is a roller cam 350 and the Camaro is a hydraulic 383. They both have the same stall, trans, carb, heads and similar rear gears . The Vet is 3.55 and Cam 3.73. Does anyone else have the guilts about favoring something else?

LOL, I completely understand. I too spend my fair share of garage time working on my wifes car which is no problem at all but sometimes I just gotta comment (to myself), "why/how did this happen." Oh well, I've done my fair share of damage to mine as well. Just seems to be accepted (in my mind) better though.

I got a 78 Vette, next on the list is a '70 Challenger, then a '68 Camaro.
But I think you are convincing me to get the Camaro next!!!
Only thing I have noticed is that a Vette is way more affordable than an equally good Camaro for some reason.

I love my Corvette but I used to have an '81 Z28, and if I ever got a trade offer for an'80-'81 Z28 in similar condition to my Corvette, I'll probably trade.

I fully understand the attraction of playing around with a green non-Corvette, just for a hoot and a change of pace...
But that said, the Corvettes, always, always come first.

A Lemans Blue 396 camaro would be great.
I am not so familiar with camaro production numbers, but I think a total of maybe 2000 L34 (396/350hp) cars were made...both coupe and convertible, auto and 4 speed. I cant imagine too many 4 speed convertible L34 Cars are out there especially with factory AC. A friend of mine said its probably similar numbers to the 69 L68 corvette with AC.
It might be more realistic for me to consider both the L34 and L35 (396/325hp)

what about the handling?
thinking to buy a first gen Camaro ( or fastback Mustang) but never had the chance to drive any of them .
my driving experience with a solid axle-heavy nose car ( modern mustang) has been not positive : rear end unpredictable -i was quite scared of the thing
