Default Molded Hood Insulation C3 ?

Where in the world can I find a Molded Hood Insulation for my 77 ? I want one that looks like it did from the factory but I have been unable to locate one. Any help??

molded?? I thought your is the same as my 76, just a piece of insulation that the clips hold on?

Here is a pic of my insulation. not sure if you can tell, but the insulation follows the curvature of the hood reinforcements.

The 73-75, 76-77 and 78-79 hood insulation pads, all were originally molded to follow the contours of the hood.

The currently available repros, are just a piece of flat insulation. None of them come molded. GM service replacement ones did come molded, but they've been discontinued for years.

Even when you could get molded GM service replacement ones, they weren't really correct for a 76-77. Since the late 70's, the one GM sold only came in the shorter length, that was used on 78 and 79's.

bringing this thread back......also looking for a molded hood insulation pad for my 74...

anyone else find any?

checked with a local dealer and his search at others turned up nothing.....

on ebay, type in corvette hood insulation and it will show different kinds. the ones above appear to be from the vendor that advertises his are made of aircraft material.
