Back in the last century, Eckler's offered a hatch kit like that. Don't quote me, but I think it used Monza glass.

Greenwood and Eckler's sold the majority of the kits that I remember in the 70's . . more often than not, the 'donor car" had been wrecked and if the frame was still reasonably straight, the Eckler's hatchback kit would seam in at the back of the t-tops with either a full rear clip or mount on top of the surviving rear fenders/quarters.
Given the space limitations of the C3 coupes, it actually wasn't a horrible idea but it's sure been awhile since I;ve seen one in decent shape . . .
Depending upon the ultimate price, that one might be kinda fun !

saw one of them, i think it was a metal bumper year, for sale on vegas CL. i've seen a couple of the stationwagon conversions too. after seeing the one in vegas, i thought it might be kinda cool to do that. it would definately add more room. i tried selling citrus on a street corner during winter. i had 2 boxes on the luggage rack, 1 in the pass floor and 2 in the pass seat. wasn't very practical

Like I said above I do like the hatch vette, it looks good and works well, it looks extra sweet on the old turbo wide bodies...sure not for everyone....then again I had 3 different people email me in private where can they buy that kit.....but then again I think the best looking c3 with a top on is a convertible with hard top, I never cared for the deep rear cove with sails that GM jacked from the 4-R-E Dino design department....okay it grew on me a little when the 76 was sitting here.
The Z car, that's another one...used to be called a poor mans Dino by some,...no it didn't have round tail lights but the Dino did.
The Z's headlights were so "Dino" that several aftermarket compaines offered Z car headlights for the c3...we see them in some Motion Phase cars, and that was to futher that "dino" look.

Remember seeing somewhere where a body guy had made a Wagon out of an early Vette, kind of like the rear section of Mopar Magnum's wagon. I guess you could do about anything, maybe even a rumble seat.... Don't laugh, I saw a pic of one...

Sorry the kind people will laugh the less kind will make it known how they feel about these....The family truckster as I call it is the 70's idea of making a vette into a wagon, they are fairly common... all the places like Ecklers sold their versions but good old John Greenwood invented it...his was the best looking if any were "good" looking...( in the eye ) the idea was it would be cool to haul your golf clubs in the back...
I love these dorky things....
Here is one,

Glad that we are not required to take what is offered. Allowing the free market to dictate its popularity and meanwhile, happy to turn to my stock-ish looking mule.
