Default Ideals to help with my car ridding experience!

Good morning fellow Corvette Enthuses! Want to pick some veteran brains about the way my corvette rides. First off, it’s similar to ridding in a tank. My question is, do all later year corvettes ride this way ? Second, due to the rough ride for many years, is there something I place behind the panels to quite her down some? I purchased the car about two months ago and in the process of making her new again! Lastly, I’ve owned a Camaro, Mustang, and other sport cars in the past and none of them rode this rough.

Thanks in advance for the advise!

Corvette suspension is stiffer than regular cars, Camaro and Mustang included.

Have you checked the shocks? Have you R&Red the suspension bushings. Did a previous owner install an aftermarket suspenson package? Does your car have the optional F41 or FE7 suspension package?

Have you checked tire inflation?

Unfortunately , yes... C3's are not world renown for their great ride.
Ride and "quietness" was improved in the 73 model somewhat over previous models.
There are kits available though the various corvette parts distributors such as sound deadening beneath carpets and door panels that do offer some help with noise.
You bought a Corvette that i am assuming is between 68 & 82 you need to realize that they are not well known for taking bumps all that great and the over all ride is rough but you also bought an attitude and experince like no other.
Have fun with it.

The ride can be rough but handling has it's fault. I agree with above. Check everything to get it right and safe. Bushings and shocks. Check it all. Noise can sometimes be the door latch link rods banging around. Tightening them up and making sure the vibration dampeners are in place will quite it back up. After market seats can help improve the ride. C5 and C6 seats are a popular and comfortable option and lots of guys have installed buckets from a wide range of other makes and models.

BAHAHAHA... Oh MAN!!! Super funny!!! Good catch! Great advise! I'm going to check all listed above. Its a 1982 Collectors Edition. I'm sure the last owner did nothing to it with upgrades (shocks, bushings). I want to keep it all stock so seat upgrades with 05/06 corvette are a no go... Thanks for the great advise and I'm going to look into padding under carpet and doors!

Any recommendations for interior paint? I want to keep the color it currently is. Just need a face lift!

Carpet is already "padded" the nice thing about the Dynamat is it's pretty thin but does a GREAT job of killing sound, but doesn't interfere with how things fit...

Your still looking at a 2 post radio also....pretty limited on choices..I did a bunch of research and like the KHE-300 everybody carries it.

may want to check out this thread...all I've done is a face lift....

Some before and after pics....not quite done.

It has a stock rear fiberglass spring, so it is already riding much nicer than steel spring cars.

Know exactly what you have. Everything in the CE interior is one year only and CE only. Have you noticed the black trim is not black? It's a very dark brown.
