So, to review, all Corvettes from 1963 to 1982 are all Stingrays (no Sting Rays)... except for 1976 when apparently there was some sort of Stingray Embargo BiCentennial Boycott going on.

Got it.

You guys were right, it's too late to keep him from being embarrassed.

Is that a rainbow colored kite on the hood or is it the rare Gay Pride Edition?

....I think they are. '76 Vinyl seats had a unique one year pattern and I believe they are correct. I don't think we see '76 Vinyl seats that often.

Maybe it's a Sting Gay?

Love the rainbow comment. I'm still laughing, the Pride Edition. Lol. I had local yokel pushing his 1980 "special edition" this past summer and finally sent him an email to have him remove the BS as I couldn't take it any more. Some boob will buy it and continue to spew the S.E. crap

Also at a glance at those lousy pictures the car has some NARROW rallye wheels on it. Maybe 7" Monte Carlo, or 68 Vette? Back bumper looks to be fiberglas maybe? Also can't believe his asking price for this jewel? Some people have ball joints!

I was just about to say the same.

I wanted a Manual trans Corvette before I found mine and finding those seems to be getting harder and harder all the time.
This is not some mid size family car with a manual trans but a classic american sports car that people want a manual trans in. I am sure there are dozens of threads here on how to convert from auto to manual.

Instead of playing up something that is BS list it for what it has and add some better pictures and I am sure it would be sold pretty quick.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Looks to have skinny 7 inch rims on it to go with the 4speed "tranny".

so I don't own my own C3 (yet) but untill that day comes, which should be pretty soon, I've been reading pretty much all posts to try and learn every system on this car but i could have sworn the rear bumpers are supposed to be fiberglass with a metal protective plate underneath??

They are urethane from the factory. But some replacement aftermarket companies make them out of fiberglass.

The polyeurathane warps an twist an look like **** after 30years an they don't match the same paint look out of place IMO . So several people like me want to change them out with the Fiberglass an some other people like to remove the body gap or spacing b/w the body and the bumpers by filling it in to look like a one piece set up

I must have read the Black book wrong - thanks for the heads up. Still, approximately 1 in 5 is, while not "rare", it would be harder to find and in my book would be more desirable.

This guy is still selling his car (wonder why). I love the note he now has on his ad:
NOTE: The "stringray" emblem did not come with the car from the manufacturing plant, it was added to the car by a previous owner
