Another '77 Project
Seems to be a few of these popping up so I figured I'd post a couple of progress pics of our '77. We purchased the car on Nov. 8th of this year and have been digging into it. This is a low budget build so it won't be a show car, just a fun cruiser for my wife and I. It's a factory L-48 / 4 speed car. The original motor is long gone but it does have the original trans. Plans are to eventually paint it black with red interior (maybe?). As of right now I have pulled the engine and trans and removed the front suspension. The goal at this point is to make it run, stop and fix the safety issues.
Here are a few pics of where we are at now:
Engine compartment is starting to take shape. More wiring to fix and I have pulled the front suspension apart since these photos were taken.
This old greasy, worn out 350 went bye-bye. I pick up my new motor tomorrow Trans kit should be here tomorrow as well and I'll be putting in new bushings, bearings, seals, gaskets and synchros.
Starter and alt have been rebuilt and are ready to go
Intake has been bead blasted
Headers have been blasted and are going for ceramic coating locally. Trading out some work for the coating.
I have also been working on removing all the yellow crimp connectors and caps from past bubba jobs and soldering and shrink wrapping it all.
We're doing the best we can with what we have and it's been a fun project so far More pics to come as we progress!

BOSTONCAMARO - It's a pretty mild street motor. Something we can cruise in and not break the bank. 350 .30 over - 9 1/2 flat tops, 1.94 heads, summit racing cam 465 / 282, balanced, z-28 valve springs, performer intake and carb, headers, Accel distributor. Nothing fancy, just a reliable performer. Car had newer 2 1/2" exhaust and flowmasters on it when I got it so we'll use that for now.

Picked up the new motor yesterday! Even though it's just sprayed with anti-rust stuff, I just HAD to set a couple of parts on it My 4spd rebuild kit also showed up yesterday.

Looks great so far. Not to shabby for a low to no budget project. I guess it's all relative. When I say no budget, it really means no budget. It sux to be poor. I think I would have gotten at least a '75 though, to have that classic Stingray interior to display and enjoy. Good luck.

Thanks again guys There has been a very small budget to work with which is now depleted - so we're officially to the no budget stage lol
It will just be saving for what what need one step at a time now. I "think" I've managed to get enough done that we can make it run and drive safely with the limited funds we had. The rest will come with time and lots of elbow grease - save every part we can and re-use it etc.
Kalaway - the '77 still has the old style "flat" seats and dash with 160mph speedo etc. ('68 - '77).
