Default new tires / suspect bend rim

Put on 4 brand new BFG's today 255 60 15 allround
the tires are great with out a doubt it's a great ride. Quite a difference to the 19 yr old goodyears I had been driving on Finally feel safe. When 1 of the tires was getting spun balanced the tech called me over to show show me that the wheel had a slight wobble and prolly hit a curb in the past life. my question...is the spare on the 75 the same 8" rally rim or was it a space saver of some sort. The aim would have the info I know, but Santa got his reins crossed this year.
the bolt that holds the tire cover closed is rusted, and I cant get it to unscrew yet. I was able to get the lock working, the bolt is next.
Just want to know if I can put this spare tire rim into rotation with out problems or should I buy a good one
thanks

I believe it is a narrower rim for space saving purposes. It is at least on my '79.

Regarding: "...is the spare on the 75 the same 8" rally rim or was it a space saver of some sort."

The spare in my 75 has a standard 15" x 8" Corvette Rally wheel. I'm pretty sure it is the original spare.

My wife also owned a '79, had it for a number of years, and she was the original owner. I do remember the spare being some sort of "space saver" kind of thing....

Space saver spares came out during the 1978 model year. Anything before that should have been a 15x8 rally wheel with the exception of us 68 owners.
