Thanks - I only got to test drive it a few miles before the family and I set off for Europe.

18X8 4" BS..BFG 255/45/18 Love the look but I'm having front fender rub at full lock. All my research said they would fit. Any ideas?

For sure. Would like to know the color or see some other shots of it.

(but my OCD is bothering me that they did not black out the rear gill)

I can understand why people chose 18's, as I had to shorten the rear spring, move the handbrake cable mount to the top of the trailing arm, and run a tiny 3mm (1/8") spacer on the front to avoid rubbing the tie rod ends when cornering hard. All of these would have fit inside the wheel on an 18 and not been a problem... I also had to reshape the rear sway bar slightly to avoid rubbing the tyre.

I prefer the 17s bit more rubber on the side walls still gives it that retro look

Here is my 74 with US Mags Rambler U111's. 18x8's with 4.5 backspace up front 255/45 tires and a 1/4 spacer. 18x9.5's with 5.25 backspace and 285/40's out back with no spacers. Had to re-locate parking brake bracket. Let me tell ya it's pretty tight in there. About an 1/8 of an inch from the frame at full compression and about 1/4 from trailing arm but no rubbing issues so far and they tuck nicely under the fenders.

What a difference in handling and high speed stability! Previously I had Cooper Cobra 275/60R15 rears and some no-name 225/60HR15 front tires. Still have the wheels and tires, I suppose I'll put them on craigslist.

One of the few places I keep a credit card for. Do you know the weight of those rims by any chance?
