Default 78 pace car project/ carb fitting?

Hi folks, question number 2,00456.

I have my stock L48 engine back together
(purchased in pieces) and am know trying to figure out what fits where
(also live on an Island sooo there is only one other vette to look at close by. and it is a 69 with different carb.

Anyway wondering what connects to the back of the Quadrajet base { looks like a vacuum line?)

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Steve

Vacuum supply for power brakes. FWIW: the assembly instruction manual and GM shop manual would probably be a big help for you.

Thanks, I have a fitting coming from the power brake booster, but it is a plastic (push in) 90 degrees. Soo I must be missing some kind of connector.

Thanks for the help.

Carb fitting, metal tube, and bracket. Pic is 74, but 78 will be similar.

Mike, You ARE the man , looking at this solves several questions!

Found the bracket I was missing still attached to the old transmission,
and also I have that split vacuum tubing just did not realize where it went.

Thanks,

Steve
P.S. Don't be makin' fun of my (in depth, really good, expensive) Haynes service manual!

Toss the Haynes in the trash, and buy the GM shop manual for 78.

Yeah good advice,

and don't buy used cars in pieces!

Thanks,

Steve

Steve

In addition, the 78 carb had a port at the bottom (backside) with a small hose that ran to the air cleaner. That would be missing from the photo.

Okay thanks,

I thought that small one went to the advance on the distributor.

I have been looking at lots of pics. Lots of after market intakes and different arrangements.

Thank you for the help,

Steve

Wowzer! Going to be fun to figure out what to keep, what to close off, what to kill.

By the way I live in Harkers Island NC (beginning of outer banks) Good to see Myrtle Beach represented.

Thanks for the info!

Steve
