I know me and I'll always baby my car so huge power isn't my top concern where as fuel economy and maintenance are. I'm more of a cruiser than a racer.
Sounds like you already answered your own questions. There's reasons "Cory's" going through the bother. Sitting an LS motor next to an older V8 may look similar, but look inside an LS, and its really a race motor design youd've had to spend some major cash doing years ago. If you're planning fuel injection, then give a used LS2/3 some serious thought. With reasonable gearing, expect 25 mpg + highway cruising all day long.

So do I need to buy to the multi-position mounts our stock location mounts? I thought moving the engine forward will cause the brackets/accessories to hit the A-arms?

Dont recall you mentioning anything about having the Tremec bolted to it. What's it out of, GTO maybe, as probably know C6 Vettes have rear mounted tranny's. You mean to tell, you got all of that for $2K, Wholly crap. Fitting that Tremec's going to require some floor tunnel carving, but worth it, as will really pay off at the pump. Keep us informed of the progress. By the way, dad's got a really nice shop there.

I just bought mounts for the stock location. I don't know why you would want to move it forward or backwards.

Thanks, yes out of a '06 GTO.

I wish I picked everything up for only $2k, Not sure I can pick up a complete LS1 engine for that.

Yea, just recall one of your earlier posts mentioning $2K, but didn't read it right, as knew it sounded to good to be true. Friend of mine had the exact 06' GTO your driveline came out of, and even being a 3800 lb car, thing really moved. You're gonna love it. Curious if you got the factory ECU, or going with something like the availble Holley system. Not sure if you ever gave Josh at Custom Image a call, but he's worth talking to.

Yeah, I plan on using the factory PCM and gas pedal/DBW system.

Still getting my parts list together and calling Josh is on that list.

Corey, i have some info that will help on the shifter for you. I have the same 06 GTO gear box in mine. When i get a chance i will write it up for you. Nothing major but it took me a while to get it set up correctly.

Sounds like a plan, shoot me the info whenever you get a chance, no major hurry.

Made some progress, BB is out and next is to removed the steering box, ram, etc to get ready to install the steeroids. I need to do some minor glass worse to the noise before in goes the engine/trans.

I'll be selling the Moroso pan, Lakewood scatter shield and March serpentine pulleys if anyone is interested.

My plan initially was to sell the Big Block to help fund the project, but my father wants put the engine in his boat so I'm going to let his have it.

So if anyone is wanting low mile (298miles) performance Big Block parts (including engine and Richmond trans) let me know.

Ls guys I'm all ears for your tips and info, reading the LS swap threads now.

The swap should not be too bad, I put a ZF 6 speed from a ZR1 into my 67 Camaro and unlike the T56, noone made kits for it, we had to make all the swap parts....looking forward to seeing your progress. Are you going to supercharge it once done?
