Passing on 1973 Line on 1977 need opinion $$
This got lost in first post so redid.
After reading the helpfull post I think I'm going to pass on the 1973. I'm looking for a turn key car in need of little repair this is not it. I have come across a 1977 Red on Red looks to be in very good shape. Rescent high end paint and body work(owners words) professionally rebuilt motor 350/400+HP. Also 13000.00. I have attached the pics he sent they aren't very good because of the way they were sent but do show the car. What do you think guys.
Thanks in advance glad I found this site.

Looks like it needs carpeting. Was red its original color? Why did it need bodywork? Automatic. Who did the "professionally rebuilt motor"? Not saying it isn't worth it, but for $13,000 you can get a lot of interesting cars.

If the seller isn't stuck on that price, it would be worth taking a closer look. Body work and paint are very expensive, so if it was done properly, there's a lot of value there. Those wheels are hideous, but they should be able to fetch $50 or so on craigslist towards another set.

A B S Competition Enterprises Regina did the motor. Other question re original color? It is an auto. pw,pb a/c t roof leather everything is operational. Painted, seller says by professional paint shop and they did minor body work at same time scratches, bubbling ets no major damage.
Wheels r different but can be changed I have an eye on another 1977 Blue/Blue says very good condition 9900 is that better deal?

I am coming in on this a bit late but, depending upon what you're looking to get out of the car (investment potential, just want a 'Vette or want a modified 'Vette) I think I'd keep my search to the '68 - '73 years. Nothing against the '74 and up C3's but, I don't think they have the appreciation potential as the earlier years.
Regarding the red '77 you posted pictures of; again, if you're looking for all original I think this one has some minor things that would need to be replaced.
Whatever you decide to buy, take your time and do your research; buying a collector car can be a very impulsive purchase and, unless you bring someone along with you to help keep your impulses in check, you can rush into buying a POS that someone spiffed up. (aka polished turd)

On the red car, I dont think you answered the question about whether the red is the original color. Did I miss it? It matters.
Also, I see the engine is "built" but I dont see if the 350 is the original motor or if its a replacement.
If the engine is wrong and the color is wrong $13k is way high- too many options for completed entry-level cars at that price.
On the blue/blue... is it '77 dark blue or that light robins egg from '77???

I agree, take your time. There are A LOT of C3's out there. I am not trying to tell you what to do but you are asking for advice. My advice is pick a year you like the best and find the best one for the money. I am not endorsing any car I have posted below... I am just giving examples of some possible better examples. For me '69s are the best. So I would concentrate on them.

Boy I did not know it would be so complicated. It is the dark blue model. I am looking for a nice vette to drive not really as an investment. If I get it for a low price I don't mind doing some work to it. I will ask the seller re original color, original rebuilt motor. I will post when I find out.

If all original matters or not will be a big part of your decision. The other will be the year, chrome or no chrome bumpers.
I really had an eye for a 76 or 77 but I ended up with an 81 it was the best one for me. It had low mileage, all original, NO RUST, just needed minor things like small cosmetic items inside.
Color wasn't my first choice but i like my car.
Just take your time and keep looking and compareing till you find the right one. Keep up asking about the cars for help and info. Always good advice given here.

If you do not, and they arent what you thought they were, its your fault.
Also, re: originality, remember that its OK not to want or care about originality. Its your purchase. However, its NOT OK to ignore whether its original or not, or to not adjust the market value of the car up or down according to originality. Thats laziness and throwing money away.
I agree with Rat, dont be so unsure of what you want. Slow down, look at the models closely and see what you want. It doesnt matter if a chrome bumper car is a better investment. If you happen to like the 74-77 look better, make that work for you- because you will get a lot more car (if you shop properly) for $10-12k than you will if you buy a chrome bumper car.
