Can you tell me what year this is?
Hey guys,
I found a 'vette in a barn awhile back and got two pics of it, but never bothered to find out the year. I am hoping that based on the two pics, someone can tell me the year, and maybe anything else about it. I am going to contact the guy that owns it, but wanted to get some prices in my head on worth.
I greatly, greatly appreciate any help I can get!

That looks like a 1982 Silver Blue over Dark Blue Corvette...see sig below for picture of mine.
Paint code is 24/26. The two tone paint option was available in 1981 and 1982.
4,871 cars recieved a two tone paint job in 1982 and 1,667 of those were this color.
All 1982 Corvettes have the L83 "crossfire injection" motor and 700R4 tranny (auto). The car produced 200 HP and 285 TQ. With the 700R4 tranny the car was quick (for it's time) off the line, 0 - 60 in about 8 seconds, but got 24 MPG.
The Crossfire has a bad rap in the Corvette hobby but those that own them, keep them relativly stock, enjoy a great worry free car.
I'd be interested to know more about the car and see additional pics.

That it does. Was there anything of note about this particular car if it is that? I don't think its been started in 10+ years. Getting the guy to sell it is probably going to prove difficult.
If I can get anymore info, or at least some pics, I will definitely get them up here for you!

81 or 82. There was no two-tone factory paint prior to that.
VIN will give you the specific model year. B for 81; C for 82.

would have been great to see the emblem on the nose ... short of that, i would have to agree on 81-82 ... the 82 will have the crossfire emblem on the side of the front fender ....

That is a stock 80-82 rear bumper, 80-82 rear letter configuration (all lower case), 80-82 tail lamps, and a stock 80-82 hood. Non of it is aftermarket!

A stinger hood has a scoop on it,taillights don't appear to be bubble lights to me.

Well mirrors are 77 and up but the hood and the tail are both after market add on, not the Stock hood or rear bumper the corvette Lettering is more block and came on later cars. My guess would be 77 and both bumpers and the hood were re-placed. $5500.00 to 7500.00 maybe a little more for the bigger engine. not the L-48 or (z)
btw, you cant just "replace" the front bumper on a 77 to make it look like an 82. Takes a little more work than that, mainly a front clip swap

Plus the 77 (as well as the 76) had the straight rear window. 78 and later have the sloping "hatch" style window. I agree with the above, likely 81 or 82
