What in these cars is using power while it's sitting? (Ok, other than the clock.)

It did when it was new, but it's disconnected and has been for over 10 years.

diode in your alternator, lites turned on somewhere, clock, aftermarket radio to keep it's clock and memory settings. music amp unswitched, radar detectors, GPS, mp3 players, dirty/wet battery, old battery with warped internal plates... all of these provide a small current to flow to ground. eventually draining your battery..

Thanks... all good points, but the car is completely stock and I just put the stock radio back in it a few months ago. The battery is new, in-fact I got a dry cell battery for it 7 months ago.

my 69 would also drain the battery just setting, like to of never found the cause!
It was in my switch, when turning the car off and removing the key it was in the ACC position which would run the battery down. I never gave it a though that you could pull the key out when in the ACC position, now I look to see if the key lines up with the notch before pulling out.
No more problem.

luck with your problem
