Thanks to ALL for the great feedback.

I have no idea what the current colour is - if anybody can identify that would be great.

The best description for the paint is a "15 footer". A cut n polish will bring it up but it has some crazing around the rear lens and on the bonnet.

Borry,

Sharp looking car. Where in Melbourne are you? I'm in Highett, give me a ring one eveing 95023227 if you need any advice. Not that I'm an expert!!!! I've just loved the cars since I first saw Route 66 as a kid. I've got two '74 coupes, manual and auto L48s.

Hi AussieJohn,

Thanks for the welcome and offer to chat. I will take you up on it as have several Qs' re RWC and VAC compliance.
I'm north in Greenvale so as they say you must be a Mexican "south of the border" (Yarra).

Have an awesome day,

Boris :-)

G'day Boris,

Congrats on the car mate, it looks great. I know what you mean about the shipping, I thought mine would never get here. I shipped my 72 over in 2007. Just before it left there was some footage on the news showing a container ship in a very bad storm, and the containers were falling overboard. My wife almost had a heart attack.
I don't know what the restrictions are on club rego in Vic, but I've been told that they have been cracking down on people driving their cars all the time, while on the cheaper rego. Make sure you check the restrictions. I looked at the club rego here in QLD, and I decided to just get full rego so I can drive the car whenever I want. There were too many drama's about sanctioned club runs, test drives and so on. I like to drive mine as much as I can, and ignore the stone chips.

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I do.

Cheers, Doug

Thanks Doug!!

It was a looooong wait.

The club rego permits 90 days pa and the maintenance of a log book. I figure that gives me a few days a week - that's enough to blow the cobwebs out of the daily grind.

Have two minor items to fix following the RWC - tighten front wheel bearings and change the rubbers on the rear spring. A quikkie!!

Have heaps of parts to install interior-wise so that will keep me busy for a few weekends. But the next mod will be to install power steering - she's a bitch at parking speed - or I need to get back into the gym.

have a great evening,

Boris :-)
