Default Rim Question

I know I could probably search for answer, but I need an answer kind of quickly.

Will a set of (4) 17x9.5 rims fit on my C3 without modifications and if so, what backspacing am I looking for? Would it be 4" or 4.5"? Am I looking a width issues in the front with this width?

Thanks for help!

You may get more info if you refer to the objects in question by the correct term...'WHEELS'

Many folks equate the term "wheels" as being the tire and the [metal] "rim". The vendors call the metal item the "wheel"; but not everyone uses the same terminology. I think we all knew what the poster was asking.

And...sorry, I don't know the specific answer to your question; but I suspect the 9-1/2" wheel width is going to be a problem with an unmodified wheelwell.

I believe in the front you're also looking at a problem with the spokes clearing the brakes. It's been a very long time but I had to go with custom wheels to clear my brakes. My info follows. It may not apply in your case but might help someone.

Boze Forged Hi Octane style with polish finish and dome cap
Front wheel: 18x8 4.250” rear spacing with long pad for brakes.
Rear wheel: 18x10 5.500” medium pad
