What is this? C3 split window conversion...
Greetings all. I came across this Vette recently tucked away behind a semi-abandoned building. While it's got the split-window treatment, the rest of the body looks like a C3 to me...sorta. Any thoughts on what this owner might have been thinking?

That's a 63 Coupe.

You're right. The first picture sucked and this one shows the back of a 63 coupe and the front clip off of a 68-69. The tail lights look like shelf stock from some 80's GM car. Whoever did that ruined two nice Corvettes.

Looks to me as a 63 coupe heavily flared front and rear with 65-67 side skirts......I used the same skirts on my 63....and 67-68 Camaro tail lites........and plastic dont rust....

Given the rear drum brakes on it, I'd wager it's an original '63 split-window with custom flares/tail/side-gills.

It may only be the color but the doors don't look right the way they fit to the top. Also get a feel that the rear roof is narrow. Rust on the rear? Buick Roof? What ever it looks bad in the pictures.

I believe you are correct. The door of a C-2 coupe fits into the roof and with no t-tops. The tail lights are from a 67-8 Camaro. The rust is probably from steel roof trusses rusting and dripping down on the fiberglass. I have seen fiberglass that has been discolored from nearby rust, and it looks similar to this 63. This car would be a challenge to restore, but might make a great race car body. In our present economy, there is not much action in new projects and race cars are selling at bargain prices.

I'm guessing C2 with C3 parts. Doors have C2 vent windows. Looks like Camaro tail lights in the rear clip 68-69 front fender gills, but I'm not sure what the clip might be. Drum brakes.

Hi Donnie,
I remember what you've said about your budget!!!!
That car will eat money in a heartbreaking way!
I'd place a small bet that when it comes off the cinder blocks, the frame breaks!! Just Maybe????
Regards,
Alan

In 1979 the guy across the street had a pretty decent 65 for 3500.I was 18 and didn't have the cash or the space but I knew it would go up in value.at the time I had just bought a decent 69rs camaro for 2500.those were the days.
