Default Ebay activities of :Chicscorvettes,Chic,Anthony Tomaio,c3world= Bad Sellerl

Hello from Germany!
This is my personal comment.
I like to publish the following information:
The C3 (=ebay Item number: 300512765782) was advertised on ebay and in Chics mails and telephone calls described as a car with no repairs to be done. But car was not as described:
1.The Corvette arrived with a loss of 3 l. of oil in the automatic transmission, as a result it is only possible to shift into the back gear. Car cannot drive forward!

Transmisson has to be repaired or changed.

2.All tires are so huge that they touch the break-wiring and the frame. Car cannot drive safely this way. Tires are old and spoiled and show multiple tears,so they have to be replaced.

3. The right T-Top does not fit properly and has to be adjusted.

The inner part of the right T-Top has no covering.

4. A Spare tire is missing. And the covering for the spare tire shows a large tear that has to be repaired.

5. All four anti-theft wheel nuts are missing

7. The mobile display for the radio/cd system is missing.

8. There is no inner cover for the front lights
9. Bumpers are ruined
10. Disc brakes are spoiled.
11. Worst thing of all is that parts of the frame are broken: obviously a dilettante did some welding on these broken parts of the frame just near the front axis : one on the right and one on the left side. The welding was ineffective and the frame is still broken. A difficult and cost expensive repair has to be done. A car with a broken and unrepaired frame is a ruin and cannot pass any technical examination. It will not be the “hit of the neighbourhood” as Chic advertised.
Cost expensive work has to be done before it can drive on the road.

The costs will reach at least 5000-7000 USD

Beware .
Do not buy cars from this seller.

I'm sorry to say that you simply didn't do your homework, you bought a car with a sight unseen deal off ebay so the chance to be disappointed once you get what you bought is very high!, I'm not defending the seller here, but I wouldn't ever buy a car sight unseen, let alone buying one from ebay.

I wish if you posted the ebay link here and asked the guys in the forum about the car before you pull the trigger, even you might have found someone to go and check it out in person for you. I'm sorry for your unfortunate deal, I hope you'll be able to fix it as it should be and enjoy driving it.

Buyer is located in Germany...

Cut him some slack about inspecting the car personally.

Sounds like he changed his E-Bay name because of bad reviews. I'm sad you are disappointed.

Never mind how many negative (or positive) feedbacks the seller have, yet I still need to inspect it personally or send someone I trust to look at it on my behalf, let the seller write or say whatever he wants, let him put the most beautiful pics in the world, if I'm not happy with what I saw in person, then I will simply pass and look for another, as simple as that. Again, I'm not intending to blame the buyer, but unfortunately, there are a lot of bad guys in the world, and we have to be careful and watch our steps.

I am not going to get into what the buyer should have done, did do, or did not do.

This guy has been discussed here before and the warning flags have been posted....he is just a crook, plain and simple.

Stay in tune....

Guten Tag Mathias

Are you also active in the German Corvette Forum? I found it very useful to get local help there as well as help here in the US Forum. There are many things to be considered when you plan to import a car.

Take care,

Martin

Hello Mathias,
I'm sorry the car is not what it should be.
I hope you're able to do the repairs needed without having it cost too much and can begin to ENJOY your Corrvette.
GOOD LUCK!

Is that all your concerned with? Did you expect a new car?

Your bigger problem seemed that the transmission only operated in reverse.

"Your bigger problem seemed that the transmission only operated in reverse.".
That is true. I have no pics from the inside of the transmission. Some plastic disc-like material had broken into needle pin pieces as the repair shop told me.
Worst problem are the broken parts on the frame that have to be welded.
This could be a real problem for the car to pass-even if welded-the technical examination (TUEV Germany).

That's some ugly welding in a pretty important area of the car. I wouldn't want a lower control arm coming free after hitting a bad bump!

I have heard of midyears and sharks having rust problems with the LCA/crossmember area; but I wouldn't trust that repair at all. Grind it off, remove the control arm, and start over.

dude you left the guy a positive feedback before you even got the car? kinda falls in the common sense file here. it is easy to get ripped off but double the odds when you think like this
